Burglars hit at least five business Cambridge premises in the early hours of Thursday morning.

In one incident a Land Rover was used to drive through the front window of an Albert St motorcycle store.

Blackwoods Yamaha owner Wayne Blackwood could only speculate as to the reasons why nothing was stolen.

“We were left with a vehicle which had obviously broken down,” he said.

“I’m guessing this had something to do with the reason they had to leave on foot.”

Around 4.30am thieves targeted Cambridge Grains and the neighbouring Cambridge Equestrian Centre on Abergeldie Way.

Cambridge Grains spokesperson Kerry Rennie described the damage to their front doors as “massive”.

“We’re still assessing what was stolen, as they literally trashed the place.

3 teens targeted college students in racially-motivated crime spree, sheriff says

Three teenagers have been arrested in an escalating crime spree that the Richland County sheriff says was racially motivated.

Sheriff Leon Lott said the crimes had escalated from robbing delivery people, to carjacking to a narrowly escaped sexual assault attempt.

Lott said Raquan Green, 17, and two 15-year-olds whose names will not be released because of their ages, targeted their victims by race.

“This was a crime spree. They would not have stopped,” Lott said. “They made a statement that they did not like white people and they were only going to rob white people.”

Lott said one of the victims, who was African-American, told investigators she was released by the suspects when they found out she was not white.

“Between July 3 and July 26 there have been seven separate incidents of armed robberies, some to include carjacking and kidnapping along the Bluff /Shop Road Corridor,” Lott said.

A ‘crime spree’ involving robberies and kidnappings targeted white students, the sheriff says

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) –

Richland County Sheriff’s Department says three teens have been arrested in a crime spree that was escalating from a delivery robbery to armed robberies to a near sexual assault. And the victims were targeted because of their race, according to Sheriff Leon Lott.

“This was a crime spree. They would not have stopped,” Lott said. “They made a statement that they did not like white people and they were only going to rob white people.”

Lott says the two suspects, 17-year-old Raquan Green and a 15-year-old whose name has not been released, were arrested Wednesday. The third suspect, a 15-year-old boy, was taken into custody at his home on Walcott Street. Lott says the trio used racism to pick their victims.

Sheriff: Victims of ‘Crime Spree’ Targeted By Race

RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WLTX) – Richland Counties deputies have made two arrests in a “crime spree’ of armed robberies and kidnappings over a period of July 3 – 26 in the area surrounding Williams Brice Stadium.

In a news conference to announce the arrests on Thursday, Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said the crime spree, which escalated from robberies to kidnappings to a near sexual assault, spanned from Stadium Suites to The Village and would have continued to escalate had the suspects not been arrested.

Raquan Green, 17, was arrested along with a 15-year-old, who has not been identified due to his age. Deputies are working with the solicitor’s office to try to charge the minor as an adult, however, according to Sheriff Lott. Neither suspect is cooperating, says Lott.
