Multi-state crime spree suspect sentenced in Kansas

PRATT, Kan. (KRQE) – A Mississippi man accused of going on a multi-state crime spree, including New Mexico, has been sentenced to nearly 13 years behind bars in Kansas.

Alex Deaton pleaded guilty earlier this year to attempted murder and aggravated battery for shooting a convenience store clerk in Kansas.

Investigators say it was part of a string of crimes starting with Deaton strangling his girlfriend and shooting two people in Mississippi.

While on the run, he is accused of carjacking a couple in Albuquerque and shooting the man before ending up in Kansas.

Deaton could face more time if he is convicted in New Mexico and Mississippi.

Crime spree suspect in custody following carjacking, multiple robberies

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) –

A man is in custody after going on a crime spree throughout Memphis on Friday morning, according to Memphis Police Department.

Police spent much of the day tracking down this robbery suspect, even using the help of a helicopter to catch the man.

Investigators said he started his crime spree around 4 a.m. on Getwell Road. There he carjacked someone and made off with their black Chevrolet Suburban.

From there, he went through town robbing people at will. It’s unclear at this time how many robberies he committed or attempted to commit during his crime spree.

However, officers caught up with him when he crashed the Suburban near East Parkway and Young Avenue. He started running, but officers caught up with him quickly.

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) –

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department has identified the suspect and deputy who were involved in a shooting that happened during a crime spree on Tucson’s south side on Wednesday, Oct. 4.

According to a news release, the suspect is 24-year-old Elijah Jamal Lawrence. He remains in critical condition at Banner-University Medical Center.

The deputy is 18-year PCSD veteran Sgt. Kevin Kubitskey. He was placed on administrative leave, which is standard policy in this type of incident.

Authorities said the crime spree included carjackings, an armed robbery, hostage situation and the deputy-involved shooting.

It began around 2 p.m. in the 4100 block of East Dover Stravenue.

Police identify Kyle Moore, 33, as suspect in Listowel crime spree

LISTOWEL — Police have revealed who they’re looking for after a wild crime spree that sparked a manhunt with police dogs, a helicopter and an emergency response team in Listowel.

Kyle Moore, 33, has yet to be found after Monday’s manhunt. It was launched after the driver of a stolen pickup truck that was stopped by police assaulted an officer, stole a Wingham Police cruiser, drove the cruiser to Listowel, crashed it into a tree and fled on foot.

Moore is also wanted for a break-and-enter in Zurich on Monday. In total, he’s wanted for a dozen crimes for Monday’s incidents and is also wanted by Sarnia Police for crimes committed in July.

Moore has known ties to Huron, Perth, Lambton, Wellington and Bruce counties. He’s described as a white, six feet tall, weighing about 185 pounds, with a medium build, and short dark hair. He has tattoos on his hands

Winnipeg police announced they have charged Peter Wilfred Flett, 26, for his involvement in a home invasion and a separate assault and robbery in June and July.

On June 30, police responded to a home invasion on Beach Avenue in which residents were assaulted after a number of suspects entered the home.

Then on July 16, police responded to an assault on Springfield Road where both a 26 and a 27-year-old man received non-life-threatening injuries.

On July 22, 20-year-old Christopher Rauch was arrested and charged in relation to both incidents.

Flett was also identified as a suspect at the time.

On July 24, police said they responded to a report of a robbery on La Verendrye Street around 11:15 p.m.

They said a man pointed what was believed to be a firearm at residents and demanded personal property. No one was injured.

Tuscaloosa Police believe hammer attack suspect was on escalating crime spree

Tuscaloosa police worked around the clock to track a suspect accused of attacking a woman with a hammer Monday night.

Officers arrested Reginald Lee Aaron, 36, less than 24 hours after the woman was struck while loading groceries into her car at the Five Points Winn-Dixie. Police said robbery was the motive, and the suspect got away with the woman’s purse and a small amount of cash.

The department assigned most of its Criminal Investigations Division to the case, and directed all offices to be on the lookout for Aaron, said TPD Capt. Brad Mason.

“He was already wanted on misdemeanor charges,” said Mason, who commands the department’s CID. “Once we realized that this was a more serious crime, where somebody was injured, we put some resources in there. Chief (Steve) Anderson assigned us to look for him over at all times during

Police K-9 injured, suspect shot after crime spree in Sacramento

A Sacramento police K-9 officer was injured Monday night in the Del Paso Heights area of Sacramento, and a suspect was shot by officers, police said.

The incident began before 9:30 p.m. in the area of Marysville and Los Robles boulevards.

Officers said the suspect rammed his truck into a gate and a parked police car at the Sacramento police substation.

Several officers started chasing the suspect’s truck until the suspect crashed into a yard and started running away.

Police released a K-9 to chase the suspect. Officers then shot at the suspect multiple times as he fought the K-9.

Officers said the suspect broke into a home and attacked the resident with a pipe.

Officers were able to take the suspect into custody. Police said he is in critical condition at a nearby hospital.

The resident was injured, but did not need to be taken to the hospital.
