Oceanside Man Pleads Guilty In Laguna Beach Crime Spree

OCEANSIDE, CA — An Oceanside man who went on a crime spree across Laguna Beach homes and businesses pleaded guilty Monday to committing those thefts. The 30-year-old man said the burglaries and other thefts that authorities say netted him about $200,000 in valuables, court papers obtained Monday show.

Edward David Torrison of Oceanside pleaded guilty to four counts of second-degree burglary, two counts of grand theft and one count of receiving stolen property, all felonies, and admitted sentencing enhancement allegations of property damage exceeding $65,000.

Torrison, who is scheduled to be sentenced Wednesday, admitted his guilt Friday in his second court appearance in the case.

Man pleads guilty to Rochester crime spree during March blizzard

DOVER — One of the two men accused of trying to steal narcotics from pharmacies in Rochester during a March blizzard pleaded guilty at Strafford County Superior Court Tuesday afternoon.

Robert Laughton, 28, whose last known address was in Farmington, allegedly worked with Glen Lemelin, 26, of Barrington, on at least three occasions in January and February to demand drugs from Care Pharmacy and Rite Aid in Rochester.

On March 14, officers were called to Care Pharmacy at 2:51 p.m. after Lemelin allegedly entered the storewearing a stocking mask and demanding money and pills. He did not get away with anything, as the pharmacy was in the process of closing due to the weather conditions.

Killeen: Local man pleads not guilty in New Mexico crime spree

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) A Killeen man accused of armed robbery, carjacking and firearm offenses in New Mexico two months ago has pleaded not guilty.

Prosecutors say Lane Michael Reed, 23, of Killeen was arraigned Wednesday in federal court in Albuquerque, N.M.

He remains detained pending trial, which has yet to be scheduled.

A seven-count indictment last week charged Reed with armed robbery of two businesses involved in interstate commerce; carjacking; using, brandishing and discharging a firearm in relation to crimes of violence; and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

He allegedly robbed gas stations and convenience stores at gunpoint in New Mexico on July 24 and 25.

Reed also allegedly carjacked a pickup truck on July 25 in Miguel County and unlawfully possessed firearms and ammunition in two other New Mexico counties.

Reed’s criminal record indicates he has previously been held on felony charges in Bell County, as well.

Man pleads guilty to murder of teen boy in 2011 crime spree

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) –

A man has pleaded guilty to murder in a 2011 case involving a multi-day crime spree that ended in the death of a teenage boy.

Melichi Corbin pleaded guilty Monday, September 25 to the murder of Christopher Williams, 14.

Police say the incident started with a double homicide on Saturday, February 12, 2011. It happened at roughly 8:30 p.m. in the 4100 block of Mohican-Prescott Crossover.

The victims, Brandon Watson and Calvin Ervin, were standing outside an apartment complex when they were approached by two men. Police believe robbery was the motive for the shooting.

The following day at roughly 4 p.m., the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office began investigating an armed robbery and shooting in the 5700 block of Matthews St.

A Waldoboro man pleaded guilty Tuesday to 38 charges in connection with a fall 2016 crime spree that included three narrow escapes from police, several burglaries, a car theft, and a police standoff.

Brian J. Bennett, 37, pleaded guilty to seven counts of Class B burglary; three counts of Class C receiving stolen property; one count each of Class C aggravated criminal mischief, burglary, eluding an officer, theft by unauthorized taking, and violation of condition of release; four counts of class D receiving stolen property; three counts each of Class D criminal mischief and Class D criminal trespass; one count of Class D burglary of a motor vehicle; seven counts of Class E theft by unauthorized taking; two counts each of Class E refusing to submit to arrest and violation of condition of release; and one count of Class E receiving stolen property.

Class B and C crimes are felonies.
