Trio Charged After Overnight Crime Spree in Dover

Unkempt grass and abandoned industrial buildings are the only things left at Cannery Park in Cambridge. Conservationists, along with city and county officials, say they’d work to revitalize the park after seven years of funding and waiting.

In the works are a new rail to trail. A smokestack, once belonging to a burnt down factory, will stay along with the old industrial building next to it.

Eight Bunbury businesses hit in overnight crime spree

Thieves have caused damage to eight separate Bunbury businesses during a crime spree across the city.

Bunbury police are investigating if the spate of burglaries which occurred in one night between Davenport, Carey Park, East Bunbury and near the CBD are linked.

Charred Chook in Carey Park was hit first at 11pm on Sunday when thieves forced open the store’s front doors.

Linmac Bearing Equipment in Davenport was broken into about 2.30am before Koombana Bay Sailing Club’s alarm was activated by thieves an hour later.

The Warehouse Cafe in Davenport was next to be targeted at 4.30am followed by Textile Traders in East Bunbury at 5am.

Thieves also hit Subway at the Homemaker Centre about 6.40am.

Green Jade restaurant in Carey Park and Smart Stockfeeds in Pelican Point were also targeted some time overnight on Sunday.

Garner thief steals cash, phones and charity money in overnight crime spree – WTVD

Garner’s Alossi Renewal Spa was one of the six businesses struck in an overnight crime spree that began around 2 a.m. Wednesday morning. At Alossi, the crook didn’t just steal money from the spa, he also grabbed the donations for a local charity.

“It was kind of crazy,” said Dena McDonald, Alossi’s owner.

McDonald’s crazy morning started with a phone call from one of the businesses nearby.

“She said, ‘Dena you need to come to the spa, someone has thrown something through the window and they broke the front door,’ ” McDonald recalled.

She returned to her spa to find the front glass door shattered from top to bottom. Surprised and in shock, she took to Twitter – angrily asking: “What’s wrong with people?”

Carjackings part of overnight crime spree from NW Side to Cicero – Chicago Sun

Three armed carjackings in a four-hour period on the city’s West and Northwest Sides are believed to be part of a crime spree that stretched into the western suburbs early Monday morning.

It all started at 1:24 a.m. with an attempted vehicular carjacking at 21st Street and 58th Court in Cicero, according to town spokesman Ray Hanania.

“Four armed male suspects, African American wearing surgical masks then fled into Berwyn and then Chicago, committing various crimes,” he said.

The first carjacking happened about 2:35 a.m. in the 2500 block of West Wellington in the Northwest Side Avondale neighborhood, according to Chicago Police. A 39-year-old man, 51-year-old man and 39-year-old woman were sitting in a black 2017 Toyota Camry when three armed males approached and ordered them out of the vehicle. The suspects took their personal belongings and then drove off heading south on Rockwell in the Camry, police said.

Man arrested after overnight crime spree

A 27-year-old Dunedin man has appeared in court following an armed robbery and police chase in rural Otago overnight.

Joshua Sinclair Hair was arrested by the police early this morning at Momona, about 25km from Dunedin.

His arrest came after a gunpoint robbery and two police chases inland from Dunedin.

Police received a report of a man entering a woman’s home in Waitahuna, presenting a firearm and stealing property about 10.30pm yesterday, police said.

The alleged offender’s white Mazda was spotted by officers in Milton, about 30km from Waitahuna, shortly after the incident.

Police followed the vehicle before abandoning the pursuit for safety reasons.

The vehicle was again seen by police about 1.30am in Waihola, about 15km from Milton.

Police followed the vehicle about 20km north until it was stopped in Momona.

Drugs and ammunition were located in the vehicle, police said.

Police arrested Mr Hair at the scene.
