Crime spree suspect in custody following carjacking, multiple robberies

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) –

A man is in custody after going on a crime spree throughout Memphis on Friday morning, according to Memphis Police Department.

Police spent much of the day tracking down this robbery suspect, even using the help of a helicopter to catch the man.

Investigators said he started his crime spree around 4 a.m. on Getwell Road. There he carjacked someone and made off with their black Chevrolet Suburban.

From there, he went through town robbing people at will. It’s unclear at this time how many robberies he committed or attempted to commit during his crime spree.

However, officers caught up with him when he crashed the Suburban near East Parkway and Young Avenue. He started running, but officers caught up with him quickly.

UPDATE: Two in hospital following crime spree on Tucson’s south side

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) –

Authorities said two men are in the hospital following a crime spree on Tucson’s south side that included carjackings, an armed robbery, hostage situation and officer-involved shooting.

It began around 2 p.m. in the 4100 block of East Dover Stravenue.

Authorities said they were called to the area for an armed robbery and carjacking. According to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department the suspect attempted to steal a vehicle, but was unsuccessful, he then went to another residence and stole a vehicle, taking a man hostage. 

According to a PCSD release, the Tucson Police Department was investigating a car jacking incident near Valencia and Interstate 10, with the AZ Department of Public Safety assisting.  It was determined that the incidents were connected.

Two arrested, one sought following southern Indiana crime spree

Two people were arrested and charged with a weekend crime spree in southern Indiana.

Chance Miles and Taylor Torstrick are accused of committing robbery, kidnapping, and carjacking early Saturday morning in Jeffersonville. Investigators are looking for a third suspect.

The first robbery occurred in the 800 block of Larkspur Drive around 1 a.m. Saturday.

“Our officers responded to that scene, and while they were still investigating and talking to the victims, we received a second call,” Detective Todd Hollis said.

Four people were robbed inside a home. Another was kidnapped, robbed and dropped off a short distance away.

Minutes later, Jeffersonville police learned of a sixth victim.

“He said that he had been a victim of a carjacking,” Hollis said.

The carjacking happened at the corner of Utica-Pike and Port Road.

Two Juveniles Arrested in East Haven Following ‘Crime Spree’

Two New Haven juveniles are under arrest in East Haven following a resident’s report of someone breaking into his vehicle. A third suspect is believed to have gotten away.

East Haven Police were dispatched to the area of Columbus Avenue on Friday, Aug. 11 on the report of suspicious activity in the area. Upon the officers’ arrival, it was determined that a resident who lived on Main Streeet observed an individual breaking into his vehicle. The resident chased the male suspect to Columbus Avenue where he was last seen entering rear yards.

Officers established a perimeter around the area and were able to make an apprehension of two male suspects.  Both suspects were juveniles and residents of New Haven. Officers believe a third suspect got away. One of the juveniles apprehended was in possesion of a .40 caliber Smith and Wesson pistol magazine. Officers were unable to locate a firearm. Jail for burglar following Bucks crime spree

A serial thief has been jailed after a crime spree in Bucks, including in Marlow and Bourne End.

Sebastian Reeve, 27, of no fixed abode, was sent to prison after pleading guilty to five counts of burglary, one of shoplifting and another of theft.

Appearing at Amersham Crown Court on Thursday, he was sentenced to 22 months behind bars for the offences.

These included raids on Boots, in Market Square, Marlow, on Sunday, April 23, and Lloyds Pharmacy, in the Parade, Bourne End, the day after (Monday, April 24), in which he stole perfume.

On Thursday, April 20, and Friday, April 21, he stole alcohol from Waitrose, in Chapel Street, Marlow.

He also admitted three burglaries in Aylesbury — at a takeaway on Monday, May 1, a shop on Wednesday, May 3, and a pharmacy on Friday, May 5.

And he stole from a handbag at a bar in Frogmoor on Tuesday, November 1.

2 teens arrested following crime spree in Colorado

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Two teens are behind bars following a crime spree according to Colorado Springs Police.

On Monday at about 3:30 p.m., police surrounded an area near S. Circle Drive and Airport Road. Authorities were after two people involved in a crime spree that dated back to June 28.

According to police, the suspects would typically use stolen vehicles to commit additional crimes. These crimes included armed robberies in El Paso County, Monument and Denver. On top of the armed robberies the two are connected to personal robberies, auto thefts, residential burglaries and an attempted murder stemming from a road rage incident in Colorado Springs.

Additionally, while in stolen vehicles the suspects were pursued by police on several occasions and demonstrated a reckless disregard for the community. Both suspects also had active arrest warrants for escape.
