The fifth and final juvenile wanted in a string of car thefts, burglaries and a kidnapping across Colorado Springs and El Paso County is now in custody.
Authorities arrested the teen in the Stetson Hills area Thursday afternoon, sheriff’s spokeswoman Jacqueline Kirby said. The teen faces multiple charges of motor vehicle theft and burglary, which occurred after he allegedly crashed a vehicle in the Peyton area Wednesday, Kirby said.
Following the crash, the teen is suspected of burglarizing several homes and stole his parents’ vehicle in an attempt to evade authorities, Kirby said.
Four alleged accomplices – two males and two females – believed to be connected to earlier burglaries and car thefts were arrested Wednesday. The males also are accused in a county shooting Monday night and face attempted murder charges, Kirby said. Details were not released.
