Jailed: Burglar who went on 24-hour crime spree stealing bikes and tools

Jamie Davies, 42, took several bicycles – including a mountain bike worth £2,200 – tools and keys during the overnight spree in Wem in April last year.

The defendant’s DNA was later discovered on a coat found near the break-ins.

At Shrewsbury Crown Court yesterday Davies appeared by video link from prison and was jailed for a total of three years and two months.

Davies, of Greenway, Wrexham, admitted five charges of burglary and one of theft, and had another burglary offence taken into consideration.

Judge Peter Barrie said that while the items taken were not substantial Davies had caused the victims a great deal of upset.

“You clearly set out that night in the Wem area to steal whatever you could find from sheds and garages and, in one instance, a house,” he said.

Jailed burglar gets more prison time for 2-state crime spree

A Trenton man imprisoned in New Jersey for multiple burglaries got more time behind bars in Pennsylvania Tuesday for break-ins he committed in lower Bucks County during a 2012 spree in both states.

Oliver Cabrera, 27, was sentenced to 12 to 25 years in prison by Bucks County Judge Diane Gibbons.

“It is my intent to keep you under supervision for as long as I can,” Gibbons said, according to the Bucks County District Attorney’s office said.

A Bucks County jury convicted him of 30 crimes in August.

Cabrera is currently in a New Jersey prison serving a five-year term for burglaries in Mercer and Ocean counties, and records show he’s scheduled to be released next month.

When that happens, he’ll be transferred to prison in Pennsylvania, the district attorney’s office said.

Bungling burglar who wore a GPS tracking device on his leg while raiding five houses is jailed for eight years

Burglar’s one-day Stockton crime spree sees him waiting in prison to learn his fate

A burglar is in prison waiting to learn his fate after he admitted a one-day crime spree.

Kirk Lawrence, 39, admitted two burglaries, one attempted burglary and taking a car in a single day, Teesside Crown Court heard.

These included:

* pleading guilty to burgling a home on Mulberry Wynd, central Stockton , stealing tools and a torch

* admitting trying to burgle another home on the same street

* admitting burgling a home on Sadberge Road, central Stockton, taking keys, an Xbox 360 games console, a suitcase, power bank and earphones

* And he pleaded guilty to taking a woman’s Vauxhall Corsa without her consent.

Franklin woman wakes up to burglar during neighborhood crime …

FRANKLIN, Ind. – A crime spree in a normally quiet Franklin subdivision included heart-stopping moments for a woman who awoke to the sound of somebody breaking into her house Tuesday morning.

Just after 5:00 a.m. Tuesday, the woman called 911 and said she heard pounding, and then breaking glass on the back of her house in the 1500 block of Williamsburg Lane.

The 911 dispatcher urged the woman to stay in her bedroom as Franklin Police officers were being dispatched to the house. The intruder was gone by the time police arrived.

Investigators found a window on the back of the house had been broken and the woman’s purse had been taken from the kitchen table.

“That would be scary to anybody,” said Franklin Police Chief Tim O’Sullivan. “She woke up in the middle of the night to glass breaking. She called 911, but there she is by herself getting ready to face one
