Gang’s getaway driver ‘cried’ when he was told what accomplices had done during armed crime spree

A gang of armed robbers targeted golf clubs, cricket clubs and working men’s clubs during a three-month spree in which victims were terrorised and threatened with weapons.

Their getaway driver Liam Worthington, 29, has now been jailed for 13 years and six months after admitting his role in the raids at NINE premises in Bury, Oldham, Ashton, Rochdale and Rossendale.

The dad-of-one cried when he heard the full facts of the robberies, his defence team told Manchester Crown Court.

Worthington transported the gang, which carried out ‘sophisticated and carefully planned’ crimes, the sentencing judge said.

In a number of the incidents, the criminals struck at closing time to ensure the maximum amount of cash was available to be stolen, the court heard.

The first robbery occurred at Walmersley Golf Club in Bury, at about 1am on October 6, last year, when five men wearing balaclavas burst into the club after smashing through the patio windows.

Two West Bank men were found guilty Friday night (Sept. 8) of a slew of charges, including murder and armed robbery, in connection with a late 2015 crime spree that killed one man and left another partially paralyzed and wheelchair-bound for life, according to the Jefferson Parish District Attorney’s Office.

After about two hours of deliberation, a Jefferson Parish jury unanimously convicted 25-year-old Corey Flag of Gretna and 18-year-old Emmett Garrison IV of Marrero of all charges listed in their 10-count bill of indictment.

Both men were convicted of second-degree murder in the Nov. 23, 2015 fatal shooting of Bruce Lutcher Sr., 34. The jury found that the two men killed Lutcher while robbing him outside of his apartment in the 1600 block of Ute Drive in Harvey. According to previous Times-Picayune interviews with family members, Lutcher was gunned down while trying to protect his young son and family from the robbers.

Garrison was also found guilty of attempted

Armed crime spree committed by 3 teens, one man in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WBKO) — Three teens and an adult were arrested and accused of committing several crimes including an alleged attempt to car-jack someone.

Police say 20 year old Antwon Trice and those three juveniles used a gun on several occassions on the same night to coerce and rob people Saturday night.

First, a man was approached by a couple of the suspects. They reportedly demanded his car keys but didn’t steal his car possibly due to the fact that the victim’s car was a stick-shift drive.

Fifteen minutes later, a driver tells police that a group of young people walked in front of his vehicle – forcing him to stop. One of them then held up a gun and tried to open the victim’s door, but he sped off.

And just minutes after that police say they believe the same group of young men told a woman that they were going to

A pair of teens are under arrest, accused of being involved in a rash of car break-ins and burglaries along Volusia County’s beach side.

Deputies said they were even involved in the armed burglary of an occupied home.

After they were arrested, investigators said the suspects told them they had big plans for last night before they were detained. Investigators said the suspects were going to use stolen weapons and stolen cars to commit armed robberies.

Investigators said Todd Billow and his family were sleeping as armed men crept through Billow’s home, even into his bedroom.

Ultimately, they stole two of Billow’s vehicles, including this corvette, a shotgun, and other valuables, deputies said.

The suspect seen on home surveillance leading the way is 14, and the second, is 19-year-old Kelly Shaw, according to deputies.
