Sydney manhunt underway after crime spree leaves multiple victims across city

A manhunt is underway after a gang went on an alleged crime spree in Sydney overnight, robbing six people and leaving one man with serious injuries.

The alleged attacks took place in Parramatta, Surry Hills, Hyde Park and Glebe  – a distance of more than 25 kilometres – over about 90 minutes, ending with a car chase through Sydney’s inner west.

Police arrest 5 teens after crime spree in north Charlotte | Charlotte …

Five teenagers have been arrested after a Saturday morning crime spree ended with police pulling one suspect from a flaming car, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police.

Police said the teens stole the white Ford Escape from the driveway of a home on Fairvista Drive, which is off Highland Creek Parkway in north Charlotte, between 1 a.m. and 8 a.m. Saturday.

People on five other streets in the Highland Creek neighborhood reported car break-ins during the same time frame.

Then, at 8:09 a.m., a male suspect with a gun robbed a Rite Aid on West W.T. Harris Boulevard. Police said the two employees inside the store at the time were not hurt. The suspect with the gun fled in the Ford Escape, and police believe other people were inside the car at that time.

Qld pair charged after violent crime spree

Two Brisbane men who allegedly pretended to be police officers have been charged after a violent early morning crime spree that left two victims terrorised and injured.

The two men, an 18-year-old from Capalaba and a 22-year-old from Wellington Point, broke into a home in the beachside Brisbane suburb of Manly at around 2 am on Saturday, police say.

It’s alleged a 43-year-old resident confronted the intruders as they attempted to steal her car keys – but one man assaulted her and left her with serious facial injuries.

The two fled on foot and the woman was hospitalised.

The pair then broke into another home in Wynnum, the next suburb to the north, and stole a Honda Civic sedan, police allege.

A few hours later, the pair approached a home in Alexandra Hills and told the 69-year-old resident they were police officers.

Thief jailed after flying to London for £30,000 crime spree stealing …

A crook from Chile flew into Britain and launched a £30,000 crime spree – stealing from fellow tourists.

Emilio Guerrero-Sepulveda, 63, travelled into the country with the sole intention of stealing cash and luggage.

He snatched loot including bags, cameras and purses during at least two trips to London.

In one theft alone he took £8,800 of items after snatching a camera bag from a man in Selfridges department store.

The callous crook also stole an 84-year-old woman’s purse from her mobility scooter while she was shopping.

But he’s now been jailed for three years and eight months for 11 counts of theft, after reams of CCTV caught him in the act.

Investigating officer PC Tom Blair, of the Aviation Policing Crime Squad, said: “Guerrero-Sepulveda is a prolific thief.

Police said a 61-year-old Welton Drive resident awoke on Tuesday morning to find his pickup truck had been stolen from his driveway. Four arrested after alleged crime spree on Sydney’s lower north shore

Four men are in custody after a 50-year-old man was allegedly stabbed in the back and arm on Sydney’s lower north shore on Wednesday night.

NSW Police said the man was walking along Spencer Street in Mosman at 10.40pm when he was allegedly set upon by a group of knife-wielding men.

The man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Royal North Shore Hospital with injuries which are not considered life-threatening.

Police stopped a car on Miller Street in North Sydney about 12.35am on Thursday and arrested four men, aged between 23 and 30.

The men have been taken to North Sydney and Chatswood police stations where they are assisting detectives with their investigation.

Police are also continuing their inquiries into three other armed robberies on the lower north shore over the past three days.

A moped gang that robbed more than 100 people, including an attempted robbery on former chancellor George Osborne, has been jailed.

Claude Parkinson, 18, and two boys aged 16 and 15, carried out the robberies over a five-day spree that “spiralled out of control”.

All three had previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit robbery.

A fourth unknown member used a hammer to intimidate victims in Camden, Westminster, Islington and Chelsea.

The gang were sentenced at Southwark Crown Court.

After they were arrested in May, police reported a 40% drop in moped-related robberies in Westminster.

East Bay crime spree suspects arrested after 19 armed robberies this summer


Police have arrested two men suspected of carrying out a spree of 19 armed robberies up and down the East Bay this summer. The suspects targeted businesses that included gas stations, liquor stores, dry cleaners and sandwich shops, police said.

Oakland Police officers arrested 34-year-old Rahin Wahab of Turlock during a robbery in progress on Sept. 26. Further investigation from the arrest led San Leandro Police Department detectives to a second suspect, 34-year-old Hedya Bayanzay of Lodi, who was arrested in his home on Sept. 28.

The Alameda Court District Attorney charged Wahab but released Bayanzay with no charges at this time, police said. Police are continuing to investigate the case.
