Qld pair charged after violent crime spree

Two Brisbane men who allegedly pretended to be police officers have been charged after a violent early morning crime spree that left two victims terrorised and injured.

The two men, an 18-year-old from Capalaba and a 22-year-old from Wellington Point, broke into a home in the beachside Brisbane suburb of Manly at around 2 am on Saturday, police say.

It’s alleged a 43-year-old resident confronted the intruders as they attempted to steal her car keys – but one man assaulted her and left her with serious facial injuries.

The two fled on foot and the woman was hospitalised.

The pair then broke into another home in Wynnum, the next suburb to the north, and stole a Honda Civic sedan, police allege.

A few hours later, the pair approached a home in Alexandra Hills and told the 69-year-old resident they were police officers.

The resident opened his gate and the men forced their way into the home

Thief jailed after flying to London for £30,000 crime spree stealing …

A crook from Chile flew into Britain and launched a £30,000 crime spree – stealing from fellow tourists.

Emilio Guerrero-Sepulveda, 63, travelled into the country with the sole intention of stealing cash and luggage.

He snatched loot including bags, cameras and purses during at least two trips to London.

In one theft alone he took £8,800 of items after snatching a camera bag from a man in Selfridges department store.

The callous crook also stole an 84-year-old woman’s purse from her mobility scooter while she was shopping.

But he’s now been jailed for three years and eight months for 11 counts of theft, after reams of CCTV caught him in the act.

Investigating officer PC Tom Blair, of the Aviation Policing Crime Squad, said: “Guerrero-Sepulveda is a prolific thief.
