Jeffco crime spree ends after bank robbery, kidnapping and home invasion

KUSA – A suspect involved in numerous crimes committed throughout Jeffco early Saturday morning is in custody, law enforcement says.

“We’re fortunate, these were violent crimes all at gunpoint,” Mark Techmeyer, spokesperson for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, said. “No one was injured.”

Starting at 4 a.m. in Lakewood, the suspect got into the car of a 27-year-old man leaving his apartment for work. The suspect told the man to drive him from the complex – turning a carjacking into a kidnapping, authorities say.

The driver begged to be let go, so the suspect dropped the man off at work – a Conoco in Lakewood.

Suspect arrested after crime spree in Jefferson County included kidnapping, bank robbery


JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. — A suspect who committed multiple crimes in Jefferson County on Saturday morning has been arrested, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said.

The crime spree started in Lakewood around 4 a.m. when the suspect kidnapped a 27-year-man at gunpoint who was leaving his apartment for work, according to authorities.

The victim was able to convince the suspect to drop him off at work at a Conoco gas station, officials said.

After dropping off the victim, the suspect headed to a CVS drug store at South Kipling Parkway and West Bowles Avenue where police say he stole narcotics.

Following that, the suspect drove to the Bank of the West location on Kipling near C-470, stole money, and then drove into a nearby neighborhood and allegedly broke into a home.

The homeowner was able to run away

5 Clermont County teens accused in multi-state crime spree

Five Clermont County teens are accused in a multi-state crime spree.

Several vehicles were stolen in Ohio and Kentucky, according to the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office, and five teens were eventually arrested in Tennessee.

The thefts happened Thursday and Friday. The first happened in Stonelick Township in Clermont County, and continued through Williamsburg and Union townships.

Of the four vehicles stolen, the sheriff’s office said three were recovered, the last being found in Grant County, Kentucky, where the suspects stole another car and continued southbound, officials said.

Just before 1 p.m. Friday, the stolen truck from Grant County was found in Jefferson County, Tennessee.

Deputies said five Clermont County teens suspected in the string of vehicle thefts were taken into custody.

The teens are being held in Jefferson County bending extradition back to Ohio.
