CLEVELAND, Ohio — A Cleveland man was indicted Monday on dozens of charges related to a crime spree that started with the killing of a Salvation Army worker.
A Cuyahoga County grand jury handed up a 35-count indictment charging William T. Jones with aggravated murder in the Dec. 2 death of Jared Plesec. The 27-year-old man is also charged with seven counts of attempted murder, multiple counts of aggravated robbery, felonious assault, burglary, grand theft and vandalism.
Jones, who is being held in the city’s jail on a $5 million bond, is scheduled to appear at an arraignment Thursday in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court.
Jones shot Plesec in the head as the 21-year-old man was leaving the Euclid Beach Villa apartment complex on East 156th Street near Lakeshore Boulevard, prosecutors said.
